The Big Sky Mountain Village is the area that surrounds the base of Lone Mountain. It is also home to Big Sky Ski Resort, Spanish Peaks, and Moonlight Basin, and The Yellowstone Club along with properties that overlook these ski areas.
Big Sky Real Estate
Whether you’re looking to own a rental property a vacation home or to purchase a recreational property, Big Sky offers real estate options close proximity to ski slopes, golf courses, and rivers. The Big Sky area is divided between the counties of Madison and Gallatin. The county seat of Madison County is Virginia City. This distinction is important because of the differing real estate tax rates for Montana counties.
Spanish Peaks
Spanish Peaks Mountain Club is a 5,750-acre private, membership-only ski and golf community that is managed by Montage Resorts. Spanish Peaks real estate is known for its amazing views and access to recreational opportunities. Spanish Peaks ski terrain adjoins Big Sky Resorts’ “Biggest Skiing in America”. Many properties are ski accessible and many are on the championship Tom Weiskopf 18-hole golf course; some are even both golf and ski accessible. Moonlight Basin
Moonlight Basin serves as a vital link in a vast wilderness chain by connecting two major parts of the 260,000-acre Lee Metcalf Wilderness. These, in turn, are surrounded by 3 million acres of national forest, and ultimately joined with the 20-million-acre Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. And yet Moonlight Basin’s connection to the wilderness is not just physical. It’s philosophical. Preserving the things that make Moonlight Basin special is in our DNA. The more we protect, the more there is to enjoy – open spaces with unobstructed views, trailheads leading to tall forests and pristine alpine lakes, places where elk, deer and moose far outnumber humans – an ideal prospect for anyone with an adventurous spirit.
